Shannon N. Maitland, MPA

CEO & Co-Founder

Shannon N. Maitland, MPA, is a strategic architect and the co-founder of Problem Solving Plus. She helps mission‑driven organizations design programs that actually happen, secure the funding to make them run, and build the systems that let them scale.

​

With over 20 years of experience as an Executive Director, coalition builder, grant strategist, community educator, and consultant, Shannon has personally secured more than $5 million in funding, with another $10 million in applications she's assisted. She co‑led the creation of a longitudinal, multi‑generational program database in Salesforce. As a tutor and community educator, has provided academic support to thousands of students, from graduate level to pre-k, across universities and community programs.

Shannon's work is rooted in resiliency, sustainability, and a genuine desire to help. She has led a 100‑partner collaborative, helped expand children’s services, hosted dozens of suucessful events, and trained hundreds of professionals in grant readiness, adult education techniques, data storytelling, and team alignment.

​

She holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies both from Florida Gulf Coast University. She is a certified Canfield Trainer (The Success Principles), a certified Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Specialist, and a trained facilitator in trauma‑informed care and motivational interviewing.

Originally from Indiana, Shannon now lives in Vero Beach, Florida, with her two children and adorable puppy.
